Sweet Sunday Little Neighbours...

my doorbell rings
and there they are
as sweet as sweet can be
with a gift
of
fallen camellias pink
lawn daisies white
dandelion yellow
no stems
just
giggly
chattery
affectionate
love
and a precious gift
on a sunny spring sunday

may their sweet friendship
blossom for years
until they are old
and
little girls bring them
stemless
bouquets
of wonder
and they will say...
how rich I am

  1. Joan, this reads like a blessing to these two little girls, and to you as well. I am smiling as I close the day on Saturday, here, and think of it all as I sleep. Thank you.

  4. Beautiful wee girls and words J, so very lovely. Friends are wonderful whether young or old and mix of ages is even more special. There was a wee girl living across the road from us a few years ago and she had a friend playing with her, Clare went over to say hello to them and our young neighbour did the introductions saying to Clare "This is my third best friend" ....wee girls and their friends ;-)

  6. This is so sweet. And I can imagine how welcoming you are, for them to be smiling like that, and holding such gifts.
